Privacy
Short version: no accounts, no sign-ups, and your typing results never leave your device.
What is stored in your browser
TypeVelocity uses your browser's localStorage to keep: your test results (up to 300), your custom test text, the name you put on a certificate, and your typing game high score. This data stays on your device. We cannot see it, and it is not sent to any server.
What you type during a test
Keystrokes are compared with the target text inside your browser. They are not recorded or transmitted.
Optional AI features
Two features use an AI model, and only when you click their button: the coaching note after a test sends that result's numbers (speed, accuracy, error count, test length and most-missed keys), and the practice paragraph sends the topic, level and focus letters you entered. Requests go through Vercel AI Gateway to the model provider. We do not attach your name or any identifier, and we do not store the requests. A temporary per-IP counter limits how often the AI can be used.
Analytics
We use Ahrefs Web Analytics to count page views and see which pages are useful. It is cookieless and does not build a profile of you.
